    Description

Shown on page 44 of Keller/Ross jadite book is the Square Sugar Shaker. Here is a great example of Kitchen ware by McKee Glass company in jadite.  This is the hard to find shaker as part of the Kitchen Shaker Set which comes with Salt, Pepper, Sugar and Flour.  Serif lettered sets are relatively easy to find, but the block lettering is not that easy.  Look closely, there IS a difference.  McKee Brothers glass invented the jadite material used in manufacture by mixing unsold Depression Green, containing Thorium salts(see my final photo), with unsold milk glass and you can often find unmixed green striations with unmixed milk glass striations in the jadite.  Genuine vintage jadite made by McKee and Jeannette glows under a black light.  New stuff does NOT.
