*This jar was reproduced to commemorate the start of the Heinz corporation in 1869. The founding owner Henry J. Heinz began packaging his first product which was Horseradish during that year.
This covered Glass Jar with milk glass serving spoon is unique in that the handle on the lid was designed to be the neck and head of a horse with his ears erect. The lid was produced in one piece where the base was done utilizing a 3 piece mold. The milk glass spoon fits in a notch in the lid to keep it firmly in the jar.
Dalzell-Viking Company reproduced this jar as the original was done, hand-crafted.
